A Plague Tale: Innocence sequel announced

A Plague Tale: Innocence was one of the biggest surprises of 2019. The stealth-horror game offered a unique world to navigate, an interesting and heartwarming/breaking story, and an excellent soundtrack. The team at Asobo Studio have now officially announced A Plague Tale: Requiem, a direct sequel coming in 2022.

Announced as part of Microsoft’s Xbox and Bethesda E3 conference, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a direct sequel to 2019’s survival horror stealth title set in an alternate history France during the 100 year war.

In A Plague Tale: Requiem, “After the original game’s epic finale to a heartbreaking story of resilience, players will embark on the emotional journey’s second chapter. They will follow Amicia and her brother Hugo on a perilous new quest, doing whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world.”

Currently, only a cinematic trailer was shown off, meaning that it is unknown what changes and improvements have been made over the first game. It is however clear that the sequel is looking to be just as atmospheric as the first.

In a big get for Xbox, A Plague Tale: Requiem will launch day-and-date on Xbox Game Pass, meaning that even though there is currently no release date, subscribers will be able to play the game as soon as it launches. While the game will also come to PS5, owners of Sony’s machine will have to pay for the title. That being said, if the sequel is as good as the first game, then A Plague Tale: Requiem will definitely be worth its asking price.
