Cyberpunk 2077 retail copies have started to leak

We’re all well aware that Cyberpunk 2077 went gold a couple of weeks before being delayed from November 19th to December 10th. With that in mind, there are disc copies of the game already floating around and at least one of them has leaked to the public over the last few days.

Over the weekend, one PS4 owner began streaming the first 20 minutes of Cyberpunk 2077, skipping over character creation to get straight into the game. Fortunately, this footage wasn’t particularly spoiler heavy, but this could be a worrying sign, as there is always the potential of more leaks.

Of course, anyone who does get their hands on Cyberpunk 2077 before release will have to play without the game’s day-one patch, which we know is going to be very significant.

One of the key reasons Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed from November 19th to December 10th was to spend some extra time optimising performance and squashing bugs on current-gen consoles. With that in mind, anyone with an early copy is going to be playing a lesser version of what will be available at launch.

KitGuru Says: CD Projekt Red hasn’t commented publicly about the PS4 version leak, but I imagine an investigation is underway. Hopefully leaks can be kept to a minimum as we wait for the official release in December.
